Akito Akagi said, “The core material of this vessel is upcycled from one of those kokeshi wooden dolls which have been abandoned by an old workshop due to the decline of the industry.  In the process of making, we communicate with the materials all the time. We innovate from getting in touch and learning about these materials. We can feel the soul from the materials beyond themselves, something close to humanity even divinity.”
