MA Gaoxin's series The Fountain of Life considers the breast as a cross-cultural symbol of beauty, motherhood, and life. Using lacquer – a medium characterised by its warmth and nurturing process – he captures the essence of feminine curves and vitality. This work juxtaposes the tactile qualities of lacquer with an archetypal form, inviting viewers to reflect on the interplay between visual experience and the flow of life, warmth, and memory.
