Master Takashi Wakamiya , an acclaimed lacquer artist, excels in traditional lacquer techniques with a high mastery level. He is also serving as director for the Hikoju Makie studio. This group of craftsmen designs innovative art objects based on the inheritance of traditional designs and motifs.   Much more than creating decorative pieces, his works have interesting sculptural forms and superbly subtle colours that make three-dimensional artefacts unique.
