Born in 1954, Jeong Suhwa is a lacquer art master who is the inheritor of Intangible Cultural Heritage in South Korea. He holds a Bachelor of Crafts.  He lectured at Pai Chai University Department of Fine Art.  Jeong won the Gold Medal in Korean Skills Competition and received the Special Award of Korean Traditional Arts and Crafts Exhibition.  He was also honoured as Distinguished Master of Lacquer Art of Republic of Korea Master and was conferred the Presidential Commendation.  In 2001, his lacquer art was recognised as the representative of Intangible Cultural Heritage No.113.
